2 – Movement Challenge
A break from the workout today. Instead we are going to practice the HIIT exercise (High Intensity Interval Training) below
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) alternates periods of short fast movement with periods of slow movement and it is great for stimulating your mitochondrion and for producing new mitochondrion cells. These are your energy producing cells.
Here is how we will do it.
Allow 20 – 30 minutes for your walk. Have a stop watch or times on your phone with you .
Do 5 minutes of normal pace walking.
Then walk as fast as you can for 45 seconds.
Then slow it down to a relaxed pace for 2 minutes to get your heart rate back down again.
Repeat this cycle 3 – 5 times
Finish off with 5 minutes of normal pace or relaxed walking.
This variation in speed and heart rate is great for stimulating your body and you should feel slightly fatigued but energised afterwards.
