About Midlands Physio

About Midlands Physio

At Midlands Physio, we believe physiotherapy should be about more than simply treating the area that hurts.

Physiotherapy focused on helping you understand your problem and get back to doing what you enjoy

Whether you're dealing with back pain, recovering from an injury, struggling with a recurring problem or trying to get back to running or sport, it's important to understand what is going on and what you can do to improve it.

Our approach is practical, individual and focused on helping you become more confident in managing your own recovery.

It's about understanding the problem

Pain can be worrying, particularly when you don't understand why it's happening.

That's why we take the time to listen to what you've been experiencing, understand how it's affecting your life and assess the things that may be contributing to your symptoms.

We'll explain what we think is going on in clear, straightforward language and make sure you understand your options.

You shouldn't leave an appointment wondering what you've been told or what you're supposed to do next.

Treatment is only part of the picture

Hands-on treatment

Hands-on treatment can have an important role in physiotherapy and, when appropriate, may be used to help reduce pain, improve movement or make it easier to exercise.

But treatment doesn't stop there.

Exercise and rehabilitation

For many problems, building strength, movement and physical capacity is an important part of making progress. We'll give you exercises and advice that are relevant to your problem and your goals, rather than simply handing you a generic list of exercises.

Build independence

The aim is to help you do more, not become dependent on treatment.

Your goals matter

Everyone's reason for seeking physiotherapy is different.

You might want to get back to work after an injury, walk without pain, return to the gym, start running again, complete a marathon or simply feel more comfortable getting through everyday life.

Your treatment plan should reflect what matters to you.

We'll work together to decide what you need to do, how much you can safely manage and how we can gradually build your capacity as you improve.

Support doesn't stop when you leave the clinic

We know that most of your recovery happens outside the treatment room.

Personalised exercise programmes

That's why we use personalised exercise programmes, video demonstrations and clear instructions to help you know exactly what to do between appointments.

Guidance between appointments

Where appropriate, we'll also provide helpful follow-up information to support you through your recovery.

Confidence in your recovery

The goal is to give you the knowledge, tools and confidence to take an active role in your rehabilitation.

Helping you stay active

Movement and exercise are central to what we do.

That doesn't mean you need to be a serious athlete. You might be completely new to exercise, trying to become more active, returning to sport after an injury or training for your next race.

Wherever you're starting from, the aim is to help you build the capacity to do the things that matter to you.

A clinic that keeps learning

Physiotherapy continues to evolve, and so does our approach.

We believe in continually developing our knowledge and keeping up with current thinking in physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.

This means combining clinical experience with ongoing learning and using approaches that have a clear purpose rather than simply doing something because it has always been done that way.

More than just getting you out of pain

Pain relief is often an important first step, but we don't want that to be the end goal.

We want you to leave with a better understanding of your problem, a clear plan for what to do next and the confidence to manage your recovery.

Whether you need a short course of physiotherapy, help returning to sport or running, or support managing a recurring problem, the aim is the same:

Understand the problem. Build your capacity. Get back to doing what you enjoy.
